Searching the desired result is a tug-of-war going between the search engine and Internet users. An important prerequisite for getting the most out of the search engine is the art of fine tune your search query.

There is difference in getting the “desired result to the query” and “relevant result to your query”. Minimum expertise is need to get your desired result in the first page. Given below is the search engine tips will guide users to drag their favorable results.

Known facts of google:
1.Google search is not case sensitive so searching for football is the same as FOOTBALL search operators are CASE sensitive so searching for football OR ronaldo uses OR as the google operator,while football or ronaldo does not.
2.Google default is to search for pages that include all of your search terms in the query.It also takes the order in which the search term is given in the input box.
3.Google excludes common words like “I” , “the”,”What”,”Why”,When”,”where”, “how”..etc google handles it searching methodology.
4.Searching using some operators with combination is allowed,Adding 2 or 3 operators together is foul play here.

Google is not:
Choosing the right search engine will give the best result.It’s not the only tool,nor it is the best; the best is selecting the right tool for your task.

Searching using Operators

Plus Operator
Plus(”+”) operator will urge to include the word in search result.

For example : soccer +brazil

Minus Operator
Minus(”-”) operator will remove the word while showing the search result

for example searching for soccer -brazil will help you to avoid brazil team details

OR Operator
Provide documents with one of the given terms, like soccer OR brazil. You can also use | instead of OR: soccer | brazil

Double quotes(” “)
Using quotes urge google to search for the exact phrase (avoid other words), try “soccer brazil” and soccer brazil

Tilde(”~”)
This gives synonyms of the given word. searching for soccer ~tips finds also pages with the word help or guide.

Asterisk ” * “
This will include every word in search phrase. try “soccer * brazil ”

Double Dot ” .. “
This will bring number your expecting in the result for example “7..70 soccer ” will FIFA 10 : Soccer Game : EA SPORTS
