Teen inventor generates power from junk – William
“That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.”
With great infra-structures in the surrounding, technology of your dreams(wireless electricity), Internet with information you are yet to achieve something.
William a half-starved uneducated boy, born in a country tormented with drought, poverty, disease, famine, very low expectations from a corrupted government and subverted leaders. All this, he broke through poverty and not only helped his family, but the entire village. Altogether,he is an achiever of nothing shorter of monumental.
William Kamkwamba is an African dynamo from Malawi who never heard the word google has built an electricity-producing windmill from spare parts and scrap.Being a school dropout and working in rough plans he was able to find a library book called Using Energy,by which he made his machine which generates power for his family home.
“I looked at my father and I looked at the dry fields it was the future which i could not accpect” – William Kamkwamba
“To encourage myself, I would look at the picture of the windmill in the book, and I would tell myself, “Somewhere, someone did this thing. If somebody did this thing, I can also do it.” Even then, with people saying I was crazy, I’d say, “OK, say what you’re going to say, but I’m still going to do this thing.” I would not accept to stop doing this thing because of what people were saying.” — TED interview
William Kamkwamba had been here in USA for promoting his book ‘The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind ‘ which he co-authored with Bryan Mealer.
He is a great inspiration for young achievers and you can also have a look at his vision blogged here. He is also pursing his graduation in electrical engineering and you can follow his steps in twitter
Congratulations Mr.William Kamkwamba !!!
